Peace Presentations & Breakouts at Saturday's Progressive Conference: Strategies to Build Progressive Political Power
Eight Massachusetts progressive groups are coming together to sponsor "Strategies to Build Progressive Political Power", an all-day Zoom conference this Saturday.
Peace issues come up in the conference in a variety of ways. Be sure to catch these important sessions:
Discussions on Palestine are at the 11:50 breakout - American Power, its History, and the Current Moment in the Middle East with Aziz Rana - a brilliant scholar of American racism, genocide, and foreign policy who is moving from Cornell to Boston College and thus will be easier for us to work with; he's a fellow at BC this year and will be fulltime starting next academic year.
And the 2:30 breakout segment - Gaza, Palestine and Politics breakout organized by Jeff Klein.
The final plenary talk of the day will be a special presentation by Max Elbaum, longtime antiwar activist, now with Convergence magazine, on how we can bring the Gaza peace energy into the 2024 election cycle. Conference registration is now free (although contributions are still welcome): https://masspeace.us/mpaoc-2023-mapa. Attend as little or as much as you like.
