Since Oct. 7, millions of people have taken to the streets to protest Israeli genocide in Palestine, voters have pledged not to reelect politicians who supported Israel’s assaults, universities have encountered massive student and faculty resistance to their efforts to repress Palestine solidarity, and Palestinians have filled social media with evidence of Israeli war crimes. Despite this powerful anti-war pressure, shifting policy has proven incredibly difficult.
Why has the upsurgence of popular resistance had so much trouble breaking through?
This talk looks at the historical, cultural, political, and capital forces that anti-genocide resistance is facing down, with the aim of equipping organizers. This webinar looks at Christian Zionism, antisemitism and “terror” talk, media disinformation, & donor power.
