Islamophobia: Countering the bias in western narratives

A donation-based virtual workshop on Islamophobia, with all proceeds donated to relief efforts in Gaza (PCRF)

By A Better Force

While there is a long history of Islamophobia in the West, it becomes especially apparent when there is a global crisis. From governments to institutions to the media, there is a systematic erasure of pro-Muslim voices and the tendency to dehumanize AMEMSA communities (Arab, Middle-Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian communities), as we are currently seeing with the humanitarian catastrophe that is unfolding in Gaza. With Islamophobia on the rise across the world, we wanted to host this workshop to help you spot the double standards and bias in Western narratives and teach you how to counter it, to stand up for Muslims being marginalized across the globe.

All proceeds will be donated to Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF), which provides free medical care to children in Palestine who lack access to sufficient local care. We will submit a receipt for the total donation after the event for transparency.

The workshop facilitators are Saamiya and Sarah Seraj, co-founders of A Better Force, which is an equity-focused leadership and training organization. You can read more about Sarah and Saamiya at About Us — A Better Force
