Sunday, November 12, 1:30 PM EDT - in person at Bemis Hall, 15 Bedford Rd, Lincoln, MA
Beginning in 2016, the GRALTA Foundation brought many films and speakers to Lincoln to explore what we have been calling “The Holy Land Problem.” Covid interrupted our programming and this year, we’ve held only one public event in June.
Now, the savagery of Hamas’s attacks on October 7 has led to thousands of deaths, profound changes in The Holy Land, and profound impacts here in America—not only on American Jews, Christians, Muslims, and our communities, but on our federal budget and election-year politics.
On Sunday, Nov. 12 (1:30 pm) and Thursday, Nov. 16 (7:30 pm - will enter onto the calendar next week), the GRALTA Foundation brings an important new documentary film to Bemis Hall.
The Law and the Prophets is Joshua Vis’s first film. Neither an Israeli nor a Palestinian, he’s a Christian theologian who has spent considerable time in the Holy Land. His film includes dramatic photography, a great soundtrack, and commentary by an A-list of diverse and respected authorities on Holy Land history and conditions as they existed until just a few weeks ago. Most important, Vis’s film is the best, most-complete primer that we’ve seen for understanding The Holy Land Problem that has only gotten worse over the past 75 years.
Boston College sociology professor Eve Spangler has agreed to lead a post-film discussion.
The pdf below includes a poster with more detailed information; its second page will tell you more about the GRALTA Foundation and our slogan: “Equal Rights for Equal People.”

Depending on audience size, we’ll either be in the first-floor “Map Room” or in the second-floor Meeting Hall. It would extremely helpful if you could let us know if you plan to attend
