From Helena Cobban, Just World News - “Amidst all the current tragedies it has been hopeful and reassuring to see that the major governments of the non-"Western" world have gradually been gathering to align their own strong priorities and preferences regarding the current crisis. On Saturday, Egypt's president Abdel-fattah al-Sisi hosted an important gathering in Cairo that was attended, as I'd noted here, by government leaders and high-level representatives from China. Russia, most Arab states, South Africa, and numerous other pillars of the Global Majority-- along with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

It's undoubtedly fair to say that nearly all the reps from non-Western countries who were present there aligned strongly on the need for a speedy ceasefire and for speedy, effective action to end the Arab-Israeli conflict once and for all on the basis of all the well-known U.N. resolutions...

It is thus very timely that this Sunday, a new global citizens' network called "Saving Humanity and the Planet Earth" (SHAPE) will be presenting a webinar at which authoritative intellectuals from Iran, China, Russia, and the United States will be the main presenters.
