Details: Thursday July 15 12:00 - 2:00 EDT - World Literature Today is holding a virtual Zoom of Palestine Voices Symposium which is one of the largest gathering of 50 eminent Palestinian writers, poets, and artists from West Bank, Gaza, Jerusalem and the diaspora. They will share with us insight of their writing, books, poetry, art, style and interesting stories about Palestine.
World Literature Today is one of the most respected literary institutions in the world which is 95 years old that was recognized by the Nobel Prize committee as “one of the best edited and most informative literary publications in the world." The event will be hosted by Yousef Khanfar (Executive Editor) and Daniel Simon (Editor-in-Chief).
Yousef Khanfar is an award-winning Palestinian author who has published three books, featured globally in many publications and is listed as one of 25 World’s Top Photographers. Among his many honors, the Palestine mission to the United Nations honored him for “appreciation of his extraordinary service to promoting peace and justice in Palestine through art.” In curating the “Palestine Voices” issue, his vision was to showcase the very best of Palestinian culture beyond the headlines of politics and violence — to give them voice and reflect the humanity of the Palestinian people and their imagination to Western readers.
