Details: Saturday, June 19th @ 2:00 PM Eastern - Israel’s recent horrific assault on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and massive plans for ethnic cleansing in Jerusalem, alongside recent reports from B’tselem and Human Rights Watch invoking apartheid as a descriptive framework for explaining the realities on the ground in Palestine, have occasioned a noticeable shift in our political discourse vis-à-vis Palestinian human rights.
The discourse in the United States has grown more progressive, and concepts such as apartheid and settler-colonialism are no longer anathema in our politics. We’ve witnessed members of Congress put forward Dear Colleague letters, resolutions, and bills calling for an end to Israeli violations of international law, not to mention US law. With this growing trend toward embracing fundamental principles of justice, the time for a proper contextualization of Palestinian rights in the US, and pushing for a justice and liberation agenda is now. Let us not let it pass us by.
On Saturday, June 19, join us at 2:00 PM Eastern AMP will be hosting a live discussion on Facebook with the following featured speakers:
