You can find a recording of the webinar here:

Participants:
Netta Amar-Shiff (human rights attorney)
Khaled Elgindy (Middle East Institute)
Priscilla Wathington (NRC)
with
Sarah Anne Minkin (FMEP)

Palestinians and human rights defenders named 2020 as one of the most violent years for Palestinians in the West Bank in recent record, including de facto annexation, escalating assaults, and evictions and home demolitions. New research from the Norwegian Refugee Council looks at the impact of occupation on Palestinian education in the West Bank, detailing “a deluge of attacks” perpetrated by Israeli forces, settlers, and settlement guards over the last 30 months. Palestinians in Area C are especially vulnerable to these attacks, which include raids on schools-in-session, physical assault of children, and damage of educational facilities. To discuss these new findings, their impact on Palestinian children, families, and educators, and potential routes to secure children’s rights to education, FMEP and NRC invite you to join us for a webinar. This discussion will feature human rights attorney Netta Amar-Shiff, Middle East Institute’s Khaled Elgindy, and NRC’s Priscilla Wathington, in conversation with FMEP’s Sarah Anne Minkin.

From the Palestine Museum (US)

A Conversation With Gideon Levy on February 28, 2021

Gideon Levy is an Israeli journalist and author who writes regularly for the newspaper Haaretz. His writings often focus on the daily lives and sufferings of ordinary Palestinians living under Israeli occupation and control in the West Bank and Gaza. His work raises sharp criticism from mainstream Israeli journalists and politicians who accuse him of being pro Palestinian and of treason.

"[Burlington, VT] Bethlehem Arad Sister City" By Mousa and Kris Ishaq
A recording in the VICCI.org series - broadcast by CCTV Town Meeting TV:

Watch the program here:

An impressive presentation by Vermonters for Justice in Palestine activist Mousa Ishaq who was a founder and continues as president of the Sister City program Burlington-Bethlehem-Arad. His own village is about 25 miles from Bethlehem.

Mousa describes the very difficult situation for people living in Bethlehem especially since the occupation of the West Bank in 1967 including the wall, Israel’s refusal to provide building permits, and the additional problems from COVID-19 and while Israel is busy vaccinating its own population.
He recounts an emotional memory of his (Christian) father emphasizing how Palestinian people have always resisted occupation - by the Romans, by the (Turkish) Ottoman Empire, by the British, and now by Israel. Religion is not the issue, it is occupation, now by predominantly European people - another case of white privilege colonialism - and people claiming divine authority to occupy and colonize.
He considers recent 'peace agreements' between Israel and some authoritarian Arab regimes as a ruse to inhibit financial aid from those regimes to people in Palestine. Addressing the 'Two-State Solution' he highlights how this (for the past 73 years) has been an easy excuse by politicians to avoid confronting the real issues of self-determination, etc. thus a way perpetuate the occupation and colonization. However, he also considers that a real equitable two-state resolution is the only way out for pragmatic reasons.
