Pro-Palestinian and Water Justice supporters are invited to participate in a stand-out to proclaim that "the right to equal access to water is a human right." Throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Israel uses water as a weapon against Palestinians. 95% percent of Gaza’s 2 million residents are without clean drinking water due to Israel’s destruction of Palestinian wells and water infrastructure. Even in some parts of the West Bank of Palestine, collecting rain water in cisterns is criminalized. In the West Bank, the 650,000 people living in Israel’s illegal settlements are allotted six times more water than the 2.8 million Palestinians in the West Bank.
(The stand-out will be preceded by the monthly NH Palestine Education Network meeting at 20 Ladd Street, Portsmouth, NH. All human rights activists are invited to attend.)
